Focus: Understanding Community Roles

This week, our students are exploring the important people who help keep our communities safe, healthy, and happy! From doctors and firefighters to teachers and mail carriers, children are learning about the many ways these helpers contribute to our daily lives.

Through interactive activities like role-playing, storytelling, and matching games, students are discovering what each community helper does and why their work matters. This week encourages curiosity, respect, and appreciation for the people who make our neighborhoods thrive.

A friendly reminder that all children enrolled at Overbrook Early Learning Center must have their annual flu vaccination by December 31. 🗓️ The flu shot helps protect your child—and our entire school community—from getting sick during the winter months.

If your child has already received their flu shot, please send documentation to the front office or your child’s teacher. If not, be sure to schedule an appointment soon with your pediatrician or local pharmacy. 📄
