Supervisor's Message
Supervisor’s Message
Dear Families,
This year marks an exciting new chapter for Overbrook Early Learning Center, and I am thrilled to welcome you as we embark on a year of growth, discovery, and meaningful connections. It is an honor to serve as Supervisor, and I am committed to building on the strong foundation of excellence for which Overbrook ELC is known.
Overbrook Early Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which reflects our ongoing commitment to high-quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood education. Our mission is to nurture the whole child socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively while building strong partnerships with families.
This year, my focus is on strengthening family engagement, enhancing communication, and expanding opportunities for both staff and students to thrive. We will continue to create a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment where every child can explore, create, and grow. Our team of passionate and highly qualified educators shares a common goal: to ensure that every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn.
Our Approach
We believe children learn best when they feel confident and connected. Through hands-on exploration, play-based learning, and carefully planned activities, our program encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. We’ve designed spaces that promote both active movement, running, dancing, jumping and quiet reflection, snuggling with a book or engaging in imaginative play.
Family Partnerships
Parents are an essential part of our learning community. This year, I aim to create even more opportunities for family collaboration through events, workshops, and consistent communication via ParentSquare and other channels. We recognize and value your role as your child’s first teacher, and we are here to support and partner with you in every way possible.
Our Commitment to Growth
As a leader, I am also deeply committed to supporting our dedicated staff with professional development opportunities that keep us at the forefront of early childhood education. Together, we strive to create a rich, inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and fosters belonging.
I am excited to work with each of you as we build an exceptional year for our students. Please know that my door is always open.
I welcome your thoughts, ideas, and questions as we collaborate to create the best possible experience for your child.
Feel free to reach out at 203-468-3305 with any questions.
Warm regards,
Marissa Mollica-Velazquez
